The community is invited to comment on a major development proposal in the heart of Byford, bound by South Western Highway, Beenyup Road and Nettleton Road.

Acting Shire President Cr Merri Harris said that a local structure plan has been prepared and lodged with the Shire by Aspen Group Pty Ltd.

“The proposal includes a 55+ years community village, a lifestyle village; multiple use corridor along the Beenyup Brook; and small areas of residential and commercial,” she said.

Public comment closes on 9 April 2010.

“A Public Information Session will be held on 10 March, from 4pm and 8pm, at the Serpentine Jarrahdale Recreation Centre on Mead Street, Byford so that the local community can come and discuss the development proposal with Shire staff and representatives of the developer, Aspen.”

“After the advertising period, all comments received will be collated and formally presented to Council.”
